Maria’s journey in the world of massage therapy began when she was still in her teens. Her mother, Leonora, taught her how to give spot massages to a family member who suffered from back pain, headache or any body pain. Moving to Edmonton, Alberta from the Philippines in 2005, she has worn different hats for her different roles in her employment career. In 2009, by giving a very short relieving neck treatment to a supervisor who was ailing from a stiff neck, she was encouraged by the said supervisor to take up a Massage Therapy course. Over the years, she has honed her skills, delving into various modalities and techniques to expand her repertoire.

Maria possesses a diverse toolkit, allowing her to tailor each session to address her clients’ specific requirements, from relaxation massage to deep tissue to aromatherapy and hot stone massages where, in all of these, she incorporates the Filipino Hilot. This powerful method is a traditional way to alleviate pain and promote holistic well-being. In Filipino culture, massage is not only viewed as a way to relax and relieve tension but also as a traditional remedy for various ailments, including cough, fever, and cold symptoms.
